Luke Combs Donates $100,000 To Childhood Cancer Research After Meeting 12-Year Old Leukemia Survivor

Luke Combs

That Luke Combs is good people. He's proven it time and time again through his generosity, not only with his money but with his time spent with fans and helping others. And at a recent concert, Luke stepped up once again in a big way. It all started when Samuel Weidenhofer, a content creator from Australia, approached 12-year old Jocelyn and her family on the street. He told them that he was trying to get to a concert but was short on money, and asked if they could help him. When the young girl handed over $10, he asked why she would help a total stranger. That's when Jocelyn explained her own story: "Because I had childhood cancer and now I like to give back to other people." As it turns out, Jocelyn was diagnosed with T-cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia in September 2019, before being declared cancer free after a two-year battle. Well if you've seen these types of videos on social media before you probably know where this is going. Instead of taking the money, Weidenhofer actually had a surprise for Jocelyn, handing her a guitar with a note on the back letting her know that not only would she be going to the Luke Combs concert at Beaver Stadium in Stage College, Pennsylvania, but she would also be meeting him backstage. Now before we go any further, I know what you're probably thinking: This has to be staged. But Jocelyn's mother confirmed that it wasn't, and that the 12-year old was genuinely surprised by the interaction. Jocelyn then headed to the stadium and backstage to meet Luke, where he signed her guitar and even strummed some "Fast Car" for her. And she also told him about all she's done to help other children who are battling cancer, raising over $100,000 through lemonade stands and other fundraisers. So when it came time for Luke to perform "Fast Car" on stage, he had another surprise in store: "A young girl and her family who flew here from San Diego, her name is Jocelyn. She's battled cancer for a long time, she's cancer free now. She has raised $100,000 at a lemonade stand for cancer research. I'm going to match that. I'm going to double it, wherever you're at." This is the kind of feel-good story that the world needs more of. And we need more good dudes like Luke Combs..

DeSean Jackson & LeSean McCoy Dedicated The 4th Episode Of Their New Podcast To Destroying Ex-Eagles Coach Chip Kelly

Desean Jackson

Chip Kelly took the college football world by storm once upon a time at Oregon with his uptempo spread offense. He then carried over some of that success to the NFL for his first couple seasons as Philadelphia Eagles head coach. Alas, an alienating/abrasive personality, an ill-advised power grab to have final say over all personnel/roster decisions, and decline in on-field results led to Kelly wearing out his welcome fast in Philly. On the heels of a middling tenure at UCLA, Kelly is now the offensive coordinator at Ohio State, with the chance to perhaps weasel his way back into the NFL. If what retired Eagles stars DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy had to say about Kelly on their The 25/10 Show podcast has any influence, the market for Kelly outside of Columbus might be a little chilly. While it's possible that Kelly has evolved since getting fired by the Eagles back in 2015, followed by an awful 2-14 2016 campaign with the San Francisco 49ers, he doesn't strike me as a guy who's terribly self-aware, never mind self-critical. Whether Kelly continues on with this sort of jerk behavior or not, McCoy and Jackson were eager to sound off on just how bad things got when they played for him. To kick things off in the first of multiple noteworthy segments, check out how Jackson describes his unceremonious departure in 2014 from the only NFL team he'd played for to that point in his career. https://twitter.com/2510show/status/1788632860418863566 It's wild that Jackson was cut right after the Eagles posted consecutive 10-win seasons on the basis of something that had nothing to do with his personal conduct, and turned out to be a big nothing burger. Would the average outsider say Chip Kelly is racist based solely on that situation involving Jackson? Perhaps. Another former Eagle the The 25/10 Show spoke with, Roc Carmichael, had some even more damning testimony about his experience with Kelly. https://twitter.com/2510show/status/1788620740201414917 If you don't take anything that Jackson, McCoy or Carmichael say about Kelly at face value, how about several other respected veterans who chimed in? Stud left tackle Jason Peters, longtime cornerstone defensive end Brandon Graham, and dynamic wideout Jeremy Maclin had nothing kind to say about their ex-coach. https://twitter.com/2510show/status/1788584949333037530 During a promo that mixes in some bits from the clips already featured herein, McCoy talks about how Kelly didn't trade him to Buffalo for the betterment of the Eagles' team, but rather, Kelly sent him there "to die." https://twitter.com/2510show/status/1788356124330332356 I don't think I've ever seen any players come out this hard, this publicly against a former coach of theirs in the history of sports. Has there ever been anything quite like this? I can't recall. Good thing Kelly is old chums with Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day. There's no way he'll be on the chopping block at Ohio State in spite of this embarrassing dress down. Kelly will have to follow Day wherever he goes as an assistant. Given how much of a disaster he was as a de facto GM for the Eagles — Howie Roseman must've been coming out of his skull at the time — his horrendous one-year stint with the 49ers, and how hated he his by former NFL players, the best Kelly can likely do is an OC job beneath Day at the collegiate level. That, or a second-tier NCAA head coaching gig. Can't imagine an NFL team letting Kelly into their building after this. Cook that fraud, DJax and Shady! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7npU_xQwRQ

“Looks Like A Guy That’s Going To Move My Couch” – Colin Cowherd Will Die On His “No Backwards Hats” Hill Despite JJ Redick & LeBron Mocking Him

Colin Cowherd JJ Reddick

Love him or hate him — or disagree with his opinion on this topic or any other — Colin Cowherd has some serious chops. For decades, the man has talked into a microphone, with only an occasional chime-in by his sidekick producer(s) and interviews. Otherwise, it's one guy on a mic in front of a camera for hours. Cowherd has remained relevant, credible, and consistent enough to build out a burgeoning podcast empire at The Volume while still maintaining his own unique brand with his long-running show. So while I respect Cowherd for all he's accomplished and don't think he's a rage-baiting specialist, I do not agree with him on every take he has. Nor do I hold it against him that he literally can't say the word "neither" and instead opts for "either" every single time. Cowherd's fixation on backwards hats has always seemed more like a hyperbolic, long-running bit he's embraced and run with. Now it's reached full "cap" capacity, as the latest target for his shtick is retired hooper/exceptional basketball analyst JJ Redick, whose name has been linked to multiple NBA head coaching vacancies. When Cowherd's latest criticism of a backwards hat on a public figure started making the rounds, Redick hit him with the "LOL" response. LeBron James chimed in for a good laugh at the whole thing, too. https://twitter.com/jj_redick/status/1788290660526658000 https://twitter.com/KingJames/status/1788297612883632359 Not gonna lie, I had to dig through myriad replies to figure out that the guy on the left in LeBron's X post/tweet is Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith. Fair point by The King. Rather than backing off and being reasonable, Cowherd doubled down on the notion that Redick lacks professionalism by reversing his headgear.
"JJ Redick's going for NBA head coaching jobs. He looks like a guy that's gonna move my couch. Didn't like it. I would tell JJ to his face. [...] He's one of the most cerebral guys in the world talking basketball, literally so layered. Beyond. He's like Christopher Nolan in Hollywood. He is directing at a different level. JJ Redick is talking basketball at a different level, and look at this guy. I mean listen folks, we can't just keep lowering our standards, or pretty soon hat on backwards becomes flip flops and board shorts to work. "[...] I'm getting a lot of pushback on this, as LeBron and JJ Reddick lashed out at me. OK, I'll take it. That's fine, go ahead. Standards are standards. If not me, then who raises this serious issue? Somebody's got to. I've started a national dialogue. We'll go back and forth on this. God bless me and God bless America."
https://twitter.com/TheHerd/status/1788609308336550016 The last time of note that I recall Cowherd whipping out the "backwards hat" segment was when San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy went to the podium for a presser with *GASP*, you guessed it... https://twitter.com/TheHerd/status/1730299432913207746 To reiterate, I think Cowherd is self-aware enough to recognize that he's playing to the crowd, antagonizing viewers, and doesn't really 100% believe that a backwards hat is such an extreme deal-breaker. It's more amusing than anything else from where I sit. That said, you can see how some people might get triggered by this whole saga. Redick is such a bright basketball mind who had to weather some of the most vicious hatred I've ever seen for an individual player during his college career at Duke. He had to grind from a bit-part role player in his early NBA years with the Magic to develop into a more than serviceable starter. He squeezed every ounce out of his talent that he could, and carved out a very respectable 15-year career at the highest level of pro hoops. I don't think Redick will have much trouble winning over an NBA locker room if he does become a coach just because he occasionally rocks a backwards hat. Speaking of Redick's possible coaching future and his relationship with LeBron — they just started a podcast together titled Mind the Game — there's a very real possibility they could team up on the Lakers here soon. https://twitter.com/BetUS_NBA/status/1787518688817717619

Read Keith Whitley’s Beautiful, Heartbreaking Final Love Letter To Lorrie Morgan

Keith Whitley Lorrie Morgan country music

Keith Whitley and Lorrie Morgan were a country music power couple in the late '80s. The two were married in 1986, until Keith's tragic passing in 1989 from alcohol poisoning at the young age of 33, which sadly occurred on this date 35 years ago on March 9th. Though Lorrie was initially warned about Keith's alcohol problems by his manager, Don Light, she hoped against her better judgement that her love for him would be enough to help him overcome his struggles: "I thought as much as I loved Keith, surely that would help him. I feel in my own heart I kept Keith alive a lot longer because I was there all the time. I put everything on the back burner, including my career, to help Keith. I never, never expected anything as bad as Keith had it. I thought it would just take love and someone to help him to get through with it. He wanted it that way. But something inside of him wouldn't let him. It literally was like he had cancer and could not control." She always knew in the back of her mind that he was "a ticking time bomb", and she lived in constant fear that something bad would happen to him: "Every time the phone would ring it was in the back of my mind that there was somebody calling to tell me he's been in a wreck or died of alcohol. It was a living hell. I was on pins and needles when he was on the road. We had six great months of nothing but pure ecstasy. It was a heavenly marriage and home." On May 9th, 1989, the day he passed away, he had taken Lorrie to the airport to see her off on a promotional trip to Alaska. He gave her a hand-written letter before he left her there, which was not all that uncommon or out of character for him. What he wrote to her, though, was almost like a farewell note. When she read it again on the way home, in retrospect, she felt like he was trying to tell her something. And it's the most beautifully heartbreaking thing you might ever read: "Would you like to know what I wish for you? If I could have any wish I wanted, this is my wish: That in your life which is so precious to me, may worries, troubles and problems never linger. May they only make you that much stronger and able and wise. May you rise each day with sunlight in your heart, success in your path, answers to your prayers, and that smile that I always love to see in your eyes. I love you, Keith." Okay, I'm gonna go cry for the rest of the day now... And if you really wanna get in your feelings, check her out singing his stunning hit "Don't Close Your Eyes" not too long after he passed away. Written by Bob McDill, Keith released it as the third single from his album of the same name in 1988, and it peaked at #1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. You can just hear the pain in her voice and she does such a beautiful job with this sweet tribute to her late husband, whom she lovingly calls "the best country singer that ever walked the face of this earth." Goosebumps... Rest In Peace, Keith Whitley: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dppw_rVKlhk The original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rF_jr4RGe0

“We Want To Keep That As Sacred As We Possibly Can” — Lainey Wilson Talks About Keeping Her Relationship Private

Lainey Wilson country music

If you're taking advice from Dolly Parton, you're probably on the right track. Lainey Wilson announced today that her forthcoming album Whirlwind is due out everywhere on August 28th, and she sat down for an extensive interview with Billboard to discuss everything from the record, to some about her personal life. Of course, Lainey caused a stir last year at the 2023 ACM Awards when she went public with her relationship with former NFL player Devlin “Duck” Hodges for the first time, and since then, they've been on quite a few other red carpets together. And while you'll see photos of them together here and there, for the most part, the pair keeps their relationship pretty private... which Lainey says is very much on purpose, and done in part because of advice from the legendary Dolly Parton, who has kept her 57-year marriage extremely private and out of the public eye. Dolly has always said it's important to keep some things to yourself, especially when you're as famous as she is, and Lainey says that's the approach she and Duck have agreed works best for them, too, especially considering that they're both public figures: "When it comes to mine and Duck’s relationship, there’s going to be some things that we can’t escape and people are going to say and do whatever, but me and him are on the same page about the less we put out there, the less that we’re going to have to deal with people making anything up and saying anything. We want to keep that as sacred as we possibly can between me and him, and so far, it has worked for us." And honestly, that seems to be a winning strategy and probably the best way to do it. But we might get a small peak into their relationship and love story with Lainey's aforementioned new album, because she's mentioned several times in the last year or so that she's been writing love songs for the first time because of Duck. That's something she's really never done before, and I'm looking forward to hearing this new side of Lainey in love. And speaking of everything Lainey's accomplished in the last year or two, the Louisiana native recently scored her seventh $1 hit at country radio with "Wildflowers and Wild Horses," and is planning to open up a bar in downtown Nashville, Bell Bottoms Up, this summer. This 2018 Picture Of Luke Combs & Post Malone Proves The Duet They Teased Has Been A Long Time Coming

Luke Combs Post Malones country music

This picture needs a comeback. We are fully living in the era of country Post Malone, and the public cannot get enough of it. With Posty's collaboration with Morgan Wallen dropping tonight, we are finally getting a twanger from Malone that isn't a country cover (but yes, we are still blaring "Pick Up Man"). While I might be in the minority on this take, I patiently await the release of his collaboration with Luke Combs. I am sure that "I Had Some Help" will be one of the IT songs of the summer; the music he has teased with Luke Combs is right up my alley. Back in February, Malone posted a video of him vibing to an unreleased track he and Combs worked on, and it sounds like it's also gonna be a heater: https://twitter.com/WhiskeyRiff/status/1758659222332657835?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1758659222332657835%7Ctwgr%5Ea3a50e9daf2cdf43f31eaea95c3e495f6d4a50c0%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.whiskeyriff.com%2F2024%2F03%2F19%2Fplaying-with-fire-post-malone-shares-photo-in-the-studio-with-luke-combs%2F In March, Combs and Malone were back in the studio again, but instead of highlighting some of the music they were working on, Malone shared some images of them just being guys and having fun. While it seems Combs and Malone were new-found friends, some fans might be surprised that these two go way back. Post Malone and Luke Combs have been buds since 2018. The baby-faced musicians should have collaborated back then, but I will take them teaming up six years later than nothing at all. I think our Instagram caption still rings true over half a decade later. "CMT Crossroads or..." I'd still kill for an episode highlighting these two. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bie6WgOF7x3/?igsh=MXVocXU5YTl2Y2FhbA%3D%3D While this image isn't as long-coming as Post Malone's crossover into country music, it is still super neat to look back and see him laying roots with prominent artists from so long ago. Back in 2015, though, Malone noted that when he was turning 30, he wanted to become a country/folk singer Talk about a long time coming... 9 years later, and we are finally getting this side of Posty. https://twitter.com/PostMalone/status/598344462226554880

Lorrie Morgan Says Keith Whitley Might Have “Stayed Calm A Little Longer” Had He Known He Was Going To Be A Member Of The Grand Ole Opry

Keith Whitley Grand Ole Opry

It's one of the biggest "what ifs" in country music. Keith Whitley is already recognized as one of the greatest country singers of all time, despite only releasing two full albums before his death. With hits like "Don't Close Your Eyes," "I'm No Stranger To The Rain," "When You Say Nothing At All," and one of my personal favorites, "I'm Over You," it's not hard to imagine a scenario where Keith Whitley is the King of Country Music if he were still around. But unfortunately Keith's voice was silenced on May 9, 1989 at just 34 years old, and now we're left with only questions about what could have been. Keith passed away due to alcohol poisoning at his Tennessee home with a blood alcohol level of .47, a tragic end for one of the brightest stars in country music. And to make it even more tragic, when Keith passed away, he had no idea that one of his biggest dreams was about to come true. Since he moved to Nashville, Keith Whitley dreamed of becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry. The superstar had stood in the historic circle many times, filling country music's most iconic venue with his incredible songs of love and heartbreak. But his ultimate goal was to become a member of the Opry. And the Opry had plans to surprise Keith with an invitation to become a member. But unfortunately, Keith passed away before he ever got the news. Last year the Opry held a special star-studded tribute to Keith Whitley, featuring his widow Lorrie Morgan and their son Jesse Keith Whitley, along with Garth Brooks, Ashley McBryde, Mark Wills, and many others to honor the country music legend. Whiskey Riff spoke with Lorrie and Jesse Keith before the show, where Lorrie spoke of her husband's dream of becoming an Opry member. And as she explained, Keith didn’t know that he was about to be made a member of the Grand Ole Opry when he passed away – something Lorrie found out from the Opry’s former general manager Hal Durham: “He didn’t know it. It was a surprise that Hal Durham told me. We walked up to Keith’s coffin, and we were both standing there, and I was holding onto Keith’s hand and Hal kinda shook his head and he said, ‘Just three weeks away from being a member.'” Lorrie also wondered whether knowing he was about to be made a member of the Opry – something he had always dreamed of – would have been enough to keep Whitley going: “I don’t know, if he would have known, if he would have maybe stayed calm a little longer, I don’t know. But I don’t ever know what made Keith do what Keith did. But I just have a feeling, if he knew that was something that huge and special coming up for him, maybe it would have been something to keep him tame for a little while longer. He would have been very excited. That was his dream. It was his #1 dream to be a member of the Grand Ole Opry.” Just another in a long line of what-ifs for one of country music's brightest stars taken from us all too soon.

Charles Wesley Godwin To Donate All Online Merchandise Sales Towards Oklahoma Tornado Relief

Charles Wesley Godwin country music

Charles Wesley Godwin being a class act, as always. Severe weather has ravaged much of the plains, the midwest, and parts of the south this past week as a multitude of powerful tornadoes have touched down. One of the worst affected areas was the state of Oklahoma, where the National Weather Service confirmed that eight different twisters tore through the Sooner State. Disaster relief is now ongoing as meteorologists and forecasters watch cautiously for more severe weather to move in. "Tornado season" usually spreads from April to June in the United States, and the powerful storms that have already hit have states like Oklahoma and Kansas in recovery mode. Charles Wesley Godwin might not be an Oklahoman himself (he proudly hails from the great state of West Virginia), but that didn't stop him from using his platform to help those in need. Chuck put out a statement in support of all of those who have been impacted by the storm, and also that he'd be sharing proceeds to the relief efforts in Oklahoma: "Praying for everyone impacted by the devastating tornadoes that recently struck Oklahoma. As a show of support, I will be donating all proceeds from my online merch sales to the Red Cross Oklahoma and Oklahoma Southern Baptist Disaster Relief until midnight tonight." https://twitter.com/charleswesleyg/status/1788623283039965588?s=46&t=sK4ZxpXri80bfkXt_M8Cog Pretty cool stuff right there. Godwin then shared the link to the merchandise, which you can click on below in the message: "If you’d like to contribute directly or purchase items from my store, you can find links to my merch store, the Red Cross OK, and the OK Southern Baptist Disaster Relief at this link." Help out if ya can, folks.

Should A Potential Stat Error Give TJ Watt The NFL Single Season Sack Record Over Michael Strahan?

Michael Strahan

Yes, as a Steelers fan I'm biased but I think the video evidence speaks for itself... In today's NFL, offense is king, no one can deny that. The league's biggest stars are nearly all quarterbacks, running backs, and receivers and anyone paying attention to the wave of rule changes can clearly see they're aimed not only for safety but making the games higher scoring and more entertaining to the casual viewer. Even though there's limited ways for a defender to really make a household name for themselves, the easiest way is to get after the quarterback. For years, feared pass rushers have terrorized linemen, flattened quarterbacks, and sent stadiums of fans erupting to their feet. Lawrence Taylor, Reggie White, Warren Sapp, JJ Watt, Aaron Donald, and no shortage of others come to mind and I'm betting that every football fan has their personal favorite quick at the ready if asked. (James Harrison for me, for those wondering at home.) But a conversation about the pass rushing greats wouldn't be complete without recognizing the two men tied for the NFL record of most sacks in a season: Michael Strahan and TJ Watt. Before anyone starts I know TJ has only played 7 years and can't (yet) be rightly talked about as one of the greatest of all time, but you can't deny the astounding career he's put together to this point. Already the Steelers franchise leader in sacks, TJ won the 2021 Defensive Player of the Year and finished top 3 another three times. He's forced 27 fumbles, grabbed 7 interceptions, and lead the league in sacks three seasons, one of which tied the record with 22.5, and that record is today's topic at hand. Michael Strahan set the sack record in 2001, breaking the mark set by Mark Gastineau of the New York Jets of 22. His 22.5 was the high water mark for the NFL until Watt tied it in 2021. However, an online sports account did some digging on Strahan's iconic 2001 season and found a potential stat error that would hand the record to TJ Watt. JaguarGator9 didn't set out to find the "truth" of the sack record but was simply following up on a fib Panthers head coach John Fox told Julius Peppers when he got off to a poor start to a season. Fox told Peppers that the year Strahan set the record he had zero sacks through the first five games, which wasn't true as he had 8 through the first five, but this lead JG9 to go back and watch the film of Strahan's sacks. All appeared normal until a clip of a week 8 game against the Dallas Cowboys surfaced and he realized that a mistake may have been made and a tackle that should not have counted as a sack was recorded as one. Had that not counted, Strahan would not have broken the sack record later that year. Does it sound crazy? Like someone, perhaps multiple people, would have checked on all the plays of a stat total that would make history? I agree, it does sound crazy, but just watch the play, listen to the explanation, and you may just have your mind changed. On the opening drive of the game, Dallas had the ball and made it to New York's 44 yard line. Quarterback Clint Stoerner took a third and 3 snap, dropped back, and then took off running when no receivers were open and it looked like he had a lane. Unfortunately for him, Michael Strahan saw him start to scramble, peeled off his block, and tackled Stoerner near the line of scrimmage. On first glance, it appears there was no gain on the play, which would go down on the stat sheet as a sack, and that's exactly how the scorekeepers marked it. But, if you rewatch the play, the quarterback isn't tackled at the line of scrimmage. He was actually tackled about a yard past the LOS for a small gain. Here's a thread where JG9 breaks it all down. https://twitter.com/JaguarGator9NFL/status/1788189255904419961 https://twitter.com/JaguarGator9NFL/status/1788189641486831998 Are you interested yet? I know I am... He gives way more details in his YouTube video (posted below) and brings up the official scorekeepers rulebook from the NFL and draws lines similar to the first down marker to show, pretty conclusively, that the play should have been marked as a gain of 1. Now, I would have liked to see the play after this to see where the official spot of the ball was to know if this whole issue originated from that, but unfortunately I don't have an archive of NFL film data at my disposal... Does this prove 100%, without a doubt, that Strahan's record shouldn't count? I wouldn't go quite that far but it certainly raises a good point and it wouldn't be the first time a record was overturned upon further review. Am I biased and want TJ Watt to have the record? Of course, I won't lie and say that I'm not. But come on, the video evidence is pretty damning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjuKBVMCcmM

Remember When Post Malone Joined Dwight Yoakam For A “Thousand Miles From Nowhere” Duet?

Dwight Yoakam and Post Malone

The countdown is on as Post Malone is set to officially release his first original "country" song in about 9 hours or so, and while I'm not expecting the second coming of Tyler Childers in the Posty gone country era, I've been waiting to hear this for a long time. Titled "I Had Some Help," the song is a duet with this guy named Morgan Wallen (maybe you've heard of him), and based on what we've already heard from the various teasers and full live performance debut at Stagecoach... it's a certified banger. Guaranteed to be the song of the summer in the mainstream country music world. I'll be the first one to say that it's not my usual style, but it's catchy as all hell. I'm getting slight "Shut Up And Dance With Me" vibes... another certified banger. And of course, country is the cool kid right now, with everyone wanting to get in on the fun (and the dollars). We saw Beyonce drop her "country album" Cowboy Carter, even though she explicitly said it WASN'T a country album. Lana Del Rey, on the other hand, explicitly said she wanted to make a country album because it is popular right now. Ed Sheeran might have something in the works as well... But Post has been talking about this for a long time, and back in 2015 (back before the face tats), even said some of his dream collaborations would be King George Strait and now, the late great Toby Keith. And if we flash back a few years, Post Malone and Dwight Yoakam gave you the duet you didn't know you needed. During the summer of 2018, Post Malone swung by Dwight Yoakam's SiriusXM show, Dwight Yoakam & The Bakersfield Beat, and... your new favorite duo was born. In all seriousness, this is just some guys bein' dudes. Not just any dudes, but these two seem like two of the coolest dudes you could ever meet, so when they busted out the guitars, a little magic happened. Malone and Yoakam sang Dwight's classic, "A Thousand Miles From Nowhere." Part I https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIFJxz0ps6c Part II https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqaJV8f0pEM

Post Malone Teams Up With Dwight Yoakam's Band

But it didn't stop there... A couple years back, Matthew McConaughey's "We're Texas" virtual benefit concert raised $7.7 million for winter storm relief in Texas, and featured a ton of stellar performances from George Strait, Miranda Lambert, Parker McCollum, Randy Rogers, Willie Nelson and more. The show was capped off with an absolute knockout performance from Post Malone, who just so happed to be in the studio with Dwight Yoakam's band. And with one of the nastiest curveballs I've ever seen in my entire life, Post and company started in on a performance of Brad Paisley's 2002 hit, "I'm Gonna Miss Her." And it was AWESOME. I mean, I knew Post Malone could do country music, I just didn't know how much I would love it. https://twitter.com/WhiskeyRiff/status/1373819230815141889 But that wasn't all... During the ending credits, Post was back, this time with a boot stomping, jaw dropping cover of Sturgill Simpson's "You Can Have The Crown." Yes, you heard that correctly... Post Malone, with Dwight Yoakam's band, covering an all-time great Sturgill Simpson classic. And he CRUSHED it. I mean, I just can't stop watching this damn video...
